Reaching Out to Our Neighbors
Life in Christ is about being part of a community. This web
site is one of the many tools we the members of First United
Methodist Church have to reach out and share with our
community the good news of Jesus Christ. Telling the good news
of God's love for us even though we are undeserving. Jesus
sends us to proclaim this message as the Holy Spirit empowers
and directs us to carry it to all who will listen. This task
leaves us with many challenges - challenges that are not
insurmountable - with God's help.

Homecoming 101
2009 FUMC Fall Revival
This is our annual fall brush-arbor style Revival we
hold typically in September where we invite dynamic,
spirit-filled preachers and church-wide events to light-the
fire so to speak in our church, in our hearts and in the
spirits of our guests.
Three days and nights of dynamic preaching and spirit-filled
singing bring many to Jesus for the first time and enrich our
spiritual journey.
This year we will be just a couple of weeks early with
our Homecoming Weekend on Friday-Sunday August, 21-23. What
would a homecoming be without a homeboy? One of our own,
Rev. Tommy Moon will bring the revival message Friday night
at 7:00 PM, Saturday night at 7:00 PM and Sunday Morning at
10:30 AM as only he can. You won't want to miss his special
message. Invite and bring as many people as you can to this
weekend of great preaching.
Photos and details of this and our
previous revivals have been moved to the
Ministries and Missions
Archive.
Intercessory Prayer Ministry
"But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope: The
steadfast love of the Lord never ceases, His mercies never
come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your
faithfulness." Lam. 3:21-23.
This is the experience of those who have benefited by praying
and being prayed for through the Intercessory Prayer Ministry.
The needs of our church, church families, and even people who
have walked in from the streets in need of prayer, have
experienced the Lord's faithfulness to hear and answer our
prayers.
Prayerfully consider being part of
this outreach, either by committing to pray once a week for
the needs submitted, or by allowing those in the ministry to
pray for your needs. Prayer cards are available in the pew
racks and in the prayer boxes located in the main hall and
west foyer of the sanctuary or you may fill out the
on-line prayer request forms
on this web site. Call 972-579-0122 for further
details. Thank you!

The Mission Society for United Methodists
"The Mission Society for United Methodists is a
voluntary association of United Methodist laity, clergy,
and congregations dedicated to world evangelization. It
exists to extend the mission outreach of the UM Church by
helping to provide increased opportunities for United
Methodists called to service and by assisting mission
efforts at the local church level. Its chief objective is
to incarnate God's love in Christ for the world and to
invite all persons to trust in and become disciples of
Jesus Christ."
