Dear Church
Family,
HAPPY MOTHER’S
DAY! This coming Sunday, May 9, is Mother’s Day, and I want to
encourage everyone possible to be in worship with your Mom.
What a wonderful way to honor that special relationship! You
might even take the opportunity to have your picture taken
together which supports our Youth Choir. Through the years,
Mother’s Day has been a high point for worship and this day will
be no exception. Come and enjoy as we celebrate our faith and
our Moms.
LET’S GO MAKE
DISCIPLES IN PERU THIS SUMMER! This summer we will be taking a
mission team to Yurimaguas, Peru, and you can be a part of it.
There is only one requirement --- you must have a heart that is
beating. Literally anyone can go and be a part of this team.
Don’t worry about the finances; there is always enough money to
do the work of the Lord. We will help and also show you how to
raise your mission support.
JOY AND I ARE
HAPPY TO BE ASSIGNED TO IRVING FIRST FOR OUR FIFTH YEAR! This
Annual Conference I am anticipating being reappointed to Irving
First. In addition, Joy has been elected as an ‘at large’
member of the Annual Conference which means we can actually
celebrate our anniversary on the actual day of it. Most years
we have to settle for another day because I am at conference.
We have a
rather large delegation going from our church to Annual
Conference this year. Mickey (alternate) and Linda Wheeler will
go as our representatives. Bill and Mary Holcomb will attend
with Bill being an ‘at large’ member as well. Pete and Daria
McNabb will be attending on Monday, and we hope to see Sammy and
Barbara Hargrove at the retirees luncheon.
Always looking
forward,
David Turner
